Today, Sept. 11, we will honor the 10th anniversary of a somber day in American history. We will remember the victims and the heroes from that horrible day.
We will recall where we were. We will talk about how we and the world have changed since that moment. We will talk about the ways we have not changed.
We will honor the soldiers who are fighting two wars. We will remember.
I remember in the days following 9/11 how much kinder we were to each other, even while driving in rush hour.
To honor those who perished on that terrible day, those who ran inside as others ran away, and those who risked their health to help in the days after, please commit an act of kindness in their names. Give food to the homeless. Forgive a wrong. Volunteer in your community. Help our neighbors who lost their homes in the wildfires. See the good in others.
We will remember. We will never forget.
